Launch Party: The launch party will take place at Tramshed Cinema from 7pm and feature some teaser short films from the festival as well as screening our Music Video Category, this event will also feature live music from Cardiff’s finest live music acts. This cinema is kitted out with some excellent aeroplane seats, but seating is limited so please make sure you get there early.
Short Film Screenings: 131 short films will be shown over the weekend at venues such as The Old Market Tavern, Kongs, Jacobs Market and The Big Top.
Pitch Your Film Competition: This is your chance to win £1,000 worth of post production courtesy of Gorilla. Just pitch your film idea to the judges (which ideally you’re going to be making, otherwise there is no point in the prize!) and you could win this very special prize. Please register in advance to take part by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Twisted Tales Night: We are holding a very special evening at Jacobs Market which will feature a programme of very twisted films, so if you like your films a bit sick and scary, then this is the event for you! This event is free with the pass or you buy ticket individually at £5.
Bad Film Club Presents House Of The Dead: It’s all in the title really, Bad Film Club will be screening this film in the very adequate games themed venue that is Kongs.
Darkened Rooms Presents Scott Pilgrim Vs Kongs: Darkened Rooms presents an Edgar Wright Night for the Cardiff Mini Film Festival. Play vintage video games, eat incredible burgers, and watch Edgar Wright’s cult classic SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD just before his new movie BABY DRIVER races into cinemas. The film is free for Cardiff Mini Film Festival pass holders or £4 a ticket otherwise. We recommend booking early.
Awards & Networking at Tramshed: To cap off an eventful weekend we will be hosting the awards at Tramshed, featuring live music and of course the handing out of the awards for the best International and Welsh short films. There will be lots of networking opportunity at this event so bring your business cards. This event is free with a festival pass or £9 to gain entry.
